NEWS 2010!
Jan 31 - The final UKC Top 10 list has been posted for 2009. Once again, Appy is the number nine JRT. Soda also made it onto the list as the number two JRT. This July, we will get to travel to Richmond, IN for UKC Premier to compete in the Top 10 class. It should be a fun trip!
Feb 20 - Appy whelped her first litter sired by AuCH UKC CH Merrilong Siroco. We have one girl (L) and one boy (R).
March 17 - Rolling Hill Nike, a son of Crossfire and Supertramp, flew in from Texas for a month long visit in TN. He will be the sire of Hattie's first litter. Nike will also make his UKC show debut at the Carolina Classic.
April 3-4 - I took three dogs to compete at the Carolina Classic in Hickory, NC. Dreamer finished her UKC CH by going Best of Winner's twice. Mindy won the CH class three times and she now has one leg towards her GRCH. She also went BOB twice and has 8 Top 10 points. Nike was a star for his first show ever! He went BOB twice and received a Group 3 out of 11 terrier breeds. He now has all of his CH points, two competition wins, and 8 Top 10 points. Nike is going to stay at RHR a bit longer to finish his UKC CH title and be the sire of Dreamer's first litter.
April 24 - I took Nike and Dottie to two shows in Athens, TN put on by the Great Smoky Mountain Dog Club. Nike went BOB both times and finished his UKC CH. Congrats to his owners Joe and Jill DeVay! Nike now has 10 Top 10 points. He will be returning to Texas this coming Thursday. Also, congrats are in order for Donna, Wes, and Bean as Bean earned her AKC Junior Earthdog title today. Way to go Bean!
May 6 - Rolling Hill gets a new stud dog, Meadowbrook Guinness. Guinness flew in from NY today and will likely go to Premier with us for his first UKC show. Thanks so much Patti for this handsome American bred boy!
May 9 - Supertramp presents us with six boys (5 tri, 1 tan) and two girls (1 tri, 1 tan) on Mother's Day. The sire is Falling Branch Southern Cross, a son of Crossfire and Casey. She's definitely happy to have her figure back!
May 13 - SuMoe's third and final litter begins to arrive just after midnight. She goes all out and produces her largest litter to date. We have three boys and two girls that are all tan/white. The sire is UKC CH Rolling Hill Superstitious Jr and this is his first litter.
May 19 - Hattie's first litter arrives in the late afternoon...two tricolor males. The sire is UKC CH Rolling Hill Nike and this is his first litter also.
June 2 - Dreamer's first litter whelps at the clinic this morning...one male (R) and one female (L), both tricolor. The sire is UKC CH Rolling Hill Nike.
June 14 - I received a letter from Close Encounter's of the Furry Kind letting me know that two of my dogs have made it into a JRT calendar for 2011. The pictures were taken during a photo shoot in April of 2009. Appy made the cover and Frosty is in there as a puppy laying on a basket.
June 24 - Punky's first litter has arrived. We have four males and one female, all tricolor. The sire is UKC CH Rolling Hill Nike.
July 8-11 - It's our second year at Premier but at a new location, Richmond, IN. Soda receives an Award of Excellence in the Top 10 class. Mindy gets another CH class win plus two Reserve CHs. It's Guinness' first show weekend and he now has 75 UKC CH points.
Sept 11-12 - Showed for the first time in Richmond, KY with the Glen of Immal Terrier Club. Mindy has another BOB so she now has 10 Top 10 points and a Group 3 out of 6 Terrier breeds. Guinness received his first BOB and a Group 4 plus two BOW. He now only needs one more competition win to complete his UKC CH.
Oct 9 - My first AKC show was in Ludwig's Corner, PA with the Devon Dog Show Association. I was very proud of Appy receiving a second place in the Open Bitches class.
Oct 10 - I entered my first Montgomery County Kennel Club show in Blue Bell, PA...the most famous all Terrier show in the USA. Appy was just out of the placings but we had a great time and the weather was perfect!
Sept 26 - French import, Beau Gosse of Mayoland comes to live at RHR. He will be entered in his first UKC shows in late October. Thank you Laura for letting us have this handsome Australian line boy!
Oct 16 - I took six dogs to a photo shoot at the Crossed Eyed Cricket campgrounds put on by Close Encounter's of the Furry Kind. This is our second year providing dogs for their stock photos which may end up in 2012 calendars. It's nice to have free professional pictures too!
Oct 23-4 - Four dogs took the short trip to Athens, TN to compete in four shows put on by the Great Smoky Mountain Dog Club. This was Beau's first weekend showing with us and he was a natural, finishing his UKC CH within the first three shows. He also went BOB three times and received two Group 1s and a Group 4. He now has 9 Top 10 points. Guinness also finished his UKC CH this weekend by going Best of Winners. Mindy was BOB once and now has 13 Top 10 points.
Nov 5 - Rolling Hill Sunny Soda competes in her first AKC show in Knoxville, TN. She goes Best in Miscellaneous at the Oak Ridge Kennel Club show having competed against a Finnish Lapphund on a cold, rainy day.
Nov 6 - Soda went Best in Miscellaneous at the Tennessee Valley Kennel Club show having competed against an American English Coonhound and a Finnish Lapphund.
Nov 4 - Step whelps a litter of four males and two females, sired by UKC CH Meadowbrook Guinness. All are tan/white.
Dec 30 - The final UKC Top 10 list for 2010 is posted and Wildenfox Miss Melinda Louise made the #10 spot. Congrats to her breeder, Elizabeth!
Oct 8 - Beau Gosse of Mayo Land is now co-owned with Liz McKinney at Falling Branch Russells after meeting him for the first time while we were in PA.
